Pricing guide
Booking software costs explained for service businesses
A low headline price can become expensive when the team grows or customer communication increases. Compare suppliers using a complete monthly scenario and separate software charges from third-party payment costs.
Method: based on Schedmo product workflows and operational checks businesses can reproduce in any supplier trial. No paid ranking or invented benchmark is used.
Start with the subscription unit
Find out whether pricing is per business, location, bookable team member, calendar or user account. These are not interchangeable. A receptionist may need access without needing a public bookable calendar, while a practitioner may need both.
Model today’s team and the likely team size in twelve months. Record which features change between plan levels.
Separate included and usage-based communication
Email reminders may be included while SMS messages are metered. Confirm how segments, long messages, international destinations, replies and failed deliveries are charged.
Estimate usage from expected appointments and the number of messages per appointment instead of relying on an unlimited-looking headline.
Understand payments and booking commission
Payment-processing fees usually belong to the payment provider and may vary by card type, country or payment method. A separate booking commission is a platform fee charged because a booking occurred.
Ask suppliers to show both clearly. Schedmo does not charge a per-booking commission; applicable subscription, optional usage and payment-provider charges remain separate.
Include migration, training and add-ons
Allow for data cleanup, assisted migration, team training, branded communication, marketing tools, accounting integrations and premium support. A feature is only valuable if it replaces work or reduces risk for the business.
Build one comparison scenario
Use the same currency, billing period, tax treatment, team size and message volume for every supplier. Keep annual discounts separate from the monthly equivalent so contract commitments remain visible.
